At Advanced Eyecare Center, we encourage all our patients to see the eye doctor at least once per year. For your convenience, we offer two different types of examinations.
Vision screenings are short, quick examinations that reveal presence of basic vision problems. Vision screenings can tell our Redondo Beach Optometrist whether or not your vision is blurred, but will not explain why your vision is blurry. Vision screenings are more often recommended for patients who are at a low risk for eye diseases.
Comprehensive eye exams are longer, more thorough examinations. These exams can take anywhere from a half an hour to an hour to complete. Comprehensive eye exams test for eye diseases, clarity of vision, and eye functionality. If a problem is detected in a vision screening, the comprehensive eye exam will reveal the source of the problem.
Why You Should Seek Vision Screenings or Eye Exams
Vision screenings and eye exams are an important part of eye care. Without seeing an eye doctor on a regular basis, vision problems and eye diseases may go untreated, which can lead to permanent eye damage, driving problems, reading problems and more. Clear vision and good eye health is critical for success in the work place and at school. Seeing your eye doctor annually can help ensure that your eyes are healthy and your vision is clear.
